Austin, TX—Whole Foods Market has launched Sourced for Good, a third-party certification program to support responsible sourcing, according to a press release.
The program is replacing Whole Trade Guarantee, evolving in order to support workers, communities, and the environment, looking to bring about measurable positive impacts for farmworkers and their communities, the press release states. It includes products certified by Fair Trade USA, Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade America, Fair Food Program, and Equitable Food Initiative.
The Sourced for Good seal can be found on more than 100 products around Whole Foods Market stores on produce, domestically sourced items like tulips, and seafood.
“At Whole Foods Market, our Sourced for Good products not only are good, they do good,” said Karen Christensen, Senior Vice President of Merchandising for Perishables, in the press release. “Our commitment to equitable trade has funded numerous community projects—from dental clinics to housing facilities to student scholarships to bird sanctuaries. By purchasing select products, customers help us in our goal to make a difference, and now with Sourced for Good, we’re offering shoppers an easier way to find these special products in our stores.”
Ancient grey haired naked rebel and activist always looking to better the Human condition. Dreaming about what could be. Lifting the veil on the imposed illusion. Only a few will survive the depopulation wars fought by the (self proclaimed) 'Chosen Ones'. Only a few will survive the mindfuck. Maybe some of the stuff I write or share will be of some value (to you). I share it out of love knowing Mankind deserves so much better.
