Pregnant Women To Be Offered COVID Jab – Where’s The Data?

It is time to round up the hundreds of thousands of pregnant women in the UK as the green light is given by health authorities for them to receive the COVID-19 Vaccine.

That’s right folks, who needs long-term safety trials, let’s just hope for the best!

All pregnant women would be offered the Pfizer or Moderna jab based on their age and clinical risk group after real-world data from the US showed about 90,000 pregnant women had been vaccinated without any safety concerns, the UK’s Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) said on Friday. – The Guardian[1]

US V-Safe Registry

So the decision has been solely based on the US V-Safe data. This is a simple smartphone app which allows those immunised with the COVID-19 vaccine to check in and report their current health status.

v-safeis a smartphone-based tool that uses text messaging and web surveys to provide personalized health check-ins after you receive a COVID-19 vaccine.

The v-safe COVID-19 Vaccine Pregnancy Registry is for v-safe participants who self-identify as pregnant at the time of vaccination or shortly thereafter (within 30 days of vaccination).

The registry activities are in addition to the v-safe after vaccination health check-ins that participants receive via text message. Pregnant participants in the registry will be contacted to answer questions about their pregnancy and medical history. – CDC[2]

In regards to those who report as being pregnant within 30 days of being vaccinated, scientists will be looking at:

  • Pregnancy outcomes, like miscarriage and stillbirth
  • Pregnancy complications, like preeclampsia and gestational diabetes
  • Problems with the newborn, like preterm delivery, poor growth, or birth defects – CDC[2]

That all sounds great, though development of the new baby one, two and even five years down the road should also be carefully monitored. But OK, for now this is a good start. But wait, how long have these vaccines existed for?

There is no Data

Well, the very first two vaccines to the party were the moderna and pfizer offerings, both published their phase I/II clinical trials in the summer of 2020. These trials consisted of zero pregnant women.

But even if they had, only now would the first babies be born from the trials.

But as I said, no pregnant women were included in the initial trials, in fact the v-safe program began at the end of 2020. So absolutely no women who received the COVID-19 vaccine have gone full term, in fact they are only just entering their second trimester.

Which is why the CDC go on to say:

However, findings on potential effects of COVID-19 vaccination during pregnancy are expected to take some time.

People are being vaccinated at different times during their pregnancies. Given the natural length of pregnancy, it takes time to follow pregnancies and learn about any potential effects on infants.

CDC is committed to sharing information learned about potential effects of COVID-19 vaccination during pregnancy as soon as possible. CDC[2]

So they are not lying, it’s just once again public ignorance has allowed them to go ahead with this decision anyway.

There is no conclusive data, nothing.

I’ll leave this with you, but I urge everyone, particularly if you have loved ones who pregnant, share this information. There are no studies to ensure the safety of women and their unborn babies after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. They are simply taking part in a real world clinical trial.
