COVID-19 Nutrition In Indonesia: Survey Shows 9 In 10 Dietitians Recommend Vitamin C, B Complex To Patients

Largely unreported by the mainstream media, numerous studies show that specific micronutrient supplements are effective against COVID-19.
Researchers in Singapore have shown that daily doses of vitamin D3, magnesium, and vitamin B12 reduce disease severity in older coronavirus patients. They found that use of this micronutrient combination significantly reduced the proportion of patients suffering clinical deterioration who required oxygen and/or intensive care support.
Spanish doctors have found that high-dose vitamin D can cut the risk of death in hospitalized coronavirus patients by an impressive 60 percent. Patients given vitamin D in this study were also found to be 80 percent less likely to need intensive care treatment.
The critical micronutrient for fighting the coronavirus pandemic is vitamin C. A randomized, placebo-controlled clinical intervention study carried out in Wuhan, China, with patients at advanced stages of the infection, has documented that high-dose vitamin C can cut the death rate from COVID-19 almost in half.
A recent systematic review published in the journal Nutrients examined the feasibility of using high-dose intravenous (IV) vitamin C in the treatment of post-viral fatigue and so-called ‘long COVID’. The authors found that treatment with vitamin C resulted in a significant reduction in fatigue. Other symptoms such as sleep disturbances, lack of concentration, depression, and pain were also frequently alleviated. Noting that vitamin C deficiency has been demonstrated in COVID-19 and other acute severe infections, the authors suggest that high-dose IV administration of this vital nutrient may be a suitable treatment option for patients afflicted with these conditions.
