Members of Capitol Police Spying on Members of Congress

US Capitol Police (USCP) Chief J. Thomas Manger has confirmed that the USCP Inspector General is opening an investigation in response to congressional inquiries about USCP police tactics, including surveilling and compiling intelligence dossiers on members of Congress, their staff, and visitors. This follows news reports and accusations from lawmakers that USCP has overstepped its bounds.

One such complainant is Texas Congressman Troy Nehl, who joined Tucker Carlson’s show on Tuesday night, to say:

“I’m being targeted right now and I believe Nancy Pelosi is weaponizing the US Capitol Police to investigate me, to try to silence me, to intimidate me and quite honestly, to destroy me…

“The claim is that they discovered one of my office doors wide open on a Saturday afternoon. The officer entered my office, to check to see if anybody was there that shouldn’t be there and saw ‘suspicious writings’ on my whiteboard, where I draft my legislative proposals.

“A couple of days later, I’ve got these secret agents from the Capitol Police knocking on my office door, questioning my staff – one of my staffers – as to the language on that board.

“‘Why was there *body armor* written on your board?’ Interrogating this staffer, asking him questions related to a hand-written map of the Rayburn Office Building, which is the office building for members of Congress and the ‘X’ on it.

“I mean, absolutely silly, absolutely ludicrous. Why were the Capitol Police inside my office investigating me?…

“I’m telling you, they’re coming after anyone that has a dissenting point of view, anybody that doesn’t agree with them.

“It happened to me. Sir, I believe the NSA, it happened to you, looking at your emails, text messages.

“Obama used the FBI to go after Donald Trump; Russia Collusion – and we know how that turned out.

“So they’re weaponizing these federal law enforcement agencies and intelligence agencies.”

The Capitol Police Intelligence Division investigated my office illegally and one of my staffers caught them in the act.

On November 20th, 2021, Capitol Police entered my office without my knowledge and photographed confidential legislative products protected by the Speech and Debate clause enshrined in the Constitution, Article 1 Section 6.

Two days later on Monday November 22, 2021 (Thanksgiving week), three intelligence officers attempted to enter my office while the House was in recess.

Upon discovering a member of my staff, special agents dressed like construction workers began to question him as to the contents of a photograph taken illegally two days earlier.

Capitol Police never informed myself or senior level staff of their investigation and the reasons are clear.

They had no authority to photograph my office, let alone investigate myself or members of my staff.

So, why is the Capitol Police Leadership maliciously investigating me in an attempt to destroy me and my character?

Maybe it is because I have been a vocal critic of Speaker Pelosi, the January 6th Committee and Capitol Police leadership about their handling of January 6th, the death of Ashli Babbitt and the subsequent SHAM investigation.
