CIA Oversees Secret Training Program For Ukrainian Special Forces In U.S. – Report

Illustrative Image The U.S. CIA is reportedly overseeing a secret training program for Ukrainian special forces, in an effort to “enhance” their “ability to push back against the Russians.” The US agency has been conducting the secret training program “for elite Ukrainian special operations forces and other intelligence personnel,” Yahoo News reported on January 13, citing five former intelligence and national security officials familiar with the initiative. According to the report the program started at an undisclosed facility in the southern US in 2015. “The United States is training an insurgency,” a former CIA official was quoted as saying. The official said that the program has taught the Ukrainians how “to kill Russians.” “If the Russians invade, those [graduates of the CIA programs] are going to be your militia, your insurgent leaders,” said the former intelligence official. “We’ve been training these guys now for eight years. They’re really good fighters. That’s where the agency’s program could have a serious impact.” “The purpose of the training, and the training that was delivered, was to assist in the collection of intelligence,” said a current senior intelligence official. Iran Successfully Tested First Indigenous Solid Fuel Space Engine (Video)

File image. Iran had successfully tested its first indigenous satellite carrier rocket with an engine running on solid fuel, Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force Brig. Gen. Amir Ali Hajizadeh announced on January 13. The new solid fuel engine, dubbed “Raafe,” has a non-metal composite fuselage, which increases the energy and leads to considerable saving in relevant costs. “From now on, Iran will be able to launch a great number of satellites using low-cost engines,” Brig. Gen. Hajizadeh said addressing a gathering of religious scholars in the Iranian city of Qom, according to the Tasnim News Agency. “During the past two years, all Iranian satellite carriers, which were tested, operated on liquid fuel. But in this test, we succeeded to use solid-fuel engine with a 66-tonne thrust.” IMA Media, an Iranian independent social media-based defense news outlet, released footage showing the successful test of the Raafe solid fuel engine. [embed]https://youtube.com/watch?v=t27-sVHWp0s[/embed] Iran has been working to develop indigenous satellite launch capabilities for several years now. The country’s space program saw several setbacks. However, it is now moving forward faster than before. Last December, Iran launched three research payloads into the space aboard a

Houthis Repel Another Attack In Shabwah & Ma’rib, Inflict Heavy Losses On UAE-Backed Forces

On January 14, the Houthis (Ansar Allah) repelled another attack by the United Arab Emirates (UAE)-backed Giants Brigades in the Yemeni provinces of Shabwah and Ma’rib. In a statement, Brig. Gen. Yahya Sari, a spokesman for the group, said that the Giants’ forces failed to advance in the district of Ain in Shabwah and the district of Harib in Ma’rib despite receiving close air support from Saudi-led coalition warplanes. According to the spokesman, coalition warplanes carried out more than 24 airstrikes on the two districts during the attack. “They sustained heavy losses, as six armored vehicles were destroyed or damaged and more than 40 [fighters] were neutralized, including brigade and battalion commanders,” Brig. Gen. Sari said. While repelling the attack, the Houthis targeted the Giants’ forces in Ain and Harib with four ballistic missiles and a suicide drone. Dozens were allegedly killed or wounded. The Houthis repelled a similar attack in Ain and Harib two days ago following a series of missile strikes on the Giants’ forces in the two districts. #Yemen:#Shabwah :– Current situation in Baihan district after #Ansarallah counterattack, resulting in the recapture of positions close to the

On January 13, ISIS’ news agency, Amaq, released photos from a recent attack by the terrorist group’s wing in Western Africa, the Islamic State-West Africa Province (ISWAP), that targeted the Tukur Buratai military collage in the northeastern Nigerian state of Borno. ISWAP terrorists stormed the collage, which is located near the town of Buratai, on the morning of January 10 following brief clashes with Nigerian Armed Forces (NAF) troops. “The fighters stormed the yard of the military collage at day light and clashed with Nigerian military forces using light and heavy weapons then set fire in a number of vehicles,” a report released by Amaq reads. According to Amaq, ten service members of the NAF were killed and many others were wounded during the clashes in Tukur Buratai military collage. ISWAP terrorists burned two armored vehicles and five pickup trucks in the course of the attack. The terrorists also captured a 4×4 vehicle and three motorcycles. The photos released by Amaq shows a Soviet-made T-72M1 battle tank and a Turkish-made Otokar Cobra armored tactical vehicle. The attack on Tukur Buratai military collage in Borno was,

Hackers Blocked Websites Of Ukrainian Ministries, Urging Ukrainians To “Prepare For The Worst”

Click to see full-size image Last night, official websites of the ministries of Ukraine were hacked. All the information on the websites disappeared, and a message was published urging Ukrainians to “prepare for the worst.” The websites of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs were hacked, and the portals of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Ecology, the Ministry of Energy were blocked and could not be opened. An appeal appeared on the websites claiming that all personal data of citizens was “uploaded to the network”, and the information on the computer is destroyed and cannot be restored. “All information about you has become public, be afraid and wait for the worst. This is for your past, present and future. For Volhynia, for the OUN UPA, for Galicia, for Polesie and for historical lands,” the message reads. The message was published in three languages: Ukrainian, Russian and Polish. Some local media reported that photos of naked women were published on the main page of the Ministry of

With Russian Air Support, Syrian Army Kicks Off Combing Operation In Deir Ezzor

Illustrative image. On January 14, the Syrian Arab Army backed by pro-government factions, including the National Defense Forces (NDF), kicked off a new combing operation in the southern countryside of Deir Ezzor. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the operation is meant to secure the area of al-Duwair which is located between the towns of al-Mayadin and al-Bukamal. In a report, the London-based monitoring group said that Syrian government forces are searching for “ISIS members who stepped up their activities in al-Badya [the Syrian desert] since the beginning of January.” The new combing operation is backed by the Russian Aerospace Forces, who have been targeting ISIS cell’s hideouts in the deserts of Raqqa and Deir Ezzor. A recent wave of Russian airstrikes, which targeted the outskirts of the town of al-Resafa in the southern Raqqa countryside, killed 11 terrorists and wounded at least 20 others. ISIS cells recent attacks on Syrian government forces in the southern countryside of Deir Ezzor were likely behind the decision to launch the operation. On January 12, the terrorists attacked a post of the Air Force Intelligence Directorate (AFID) near the town of al-Kashmah. Three officers of the AFID were

(Photo by KIM KYUNG-HOON / POOL / AFP) Fumio Kishida is militarizing Japan to Western standards in violation of constitution. Written by Paul Antonopoulos, independent geopolitical analyst The Japanese government, led by Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, has been militarizing the country since October last year in violation of Article 9 of the Japanese Constitution. Article 9 states that “[Japan aspires] sincerely to an international peace based on justice and order, the Japanese people forever renounce war as a sovereign right of the nation and the threat or use of force as means of settling international disputes. In order to accomplish the aim of the preceding paragraph, land, sea, and air forces, as well as other war potential, will never be maintained.” To achieve this goal, Japan never built up a serious military fitting of the country’s global importance, nor other means of war as the right to wage war is not recognized by the Constitution. Kishida continues the line of previous prime ministers and members of the ruling Liberal Democratic

Saudi-led Coalition Destroyed Houthi Attack Helicopter In Yemen’s Ma’rib (Video)

File image. On January 13, the Saudi-led coalition announced that it had destroyed an attack helicopter of the Houthis (Ansar Allah) in the central Yemeni province of Ma’rib. A warplane of the coalition bombed the helicopter that was recently moved from the airport of the Houthi-held Yemeni capital, Sanaa, to southern Ma’rib. The coalition released footage showing the pinpoint airstrike. Defense Arab (@defensearab) January 12, 2022 The attack helicopter was likely a Soviet-made Mi-24/35. The former Yemeni Air Force operated around 24 helicopters of this type. All the helicopters that ended up in the hands of the Houthis following the group’s 2014 rebellion were damaged in the Saudi-led coalition’s 2015 shock and awe strikes on Yemen. The Houthis were apparently able to bring at least one of the seized Mi-24/35s back to life. Last year there were several reports of a Houthi helicopter attacking Saudi-backed forces in Ma’rib. Back then, this was not confirmed or denied by the Houthis or

US Senate Doesn’t Budge On Legislation And The Filibuster

Illustrative Image Biden says his opponents are racist. Written by William Stroock, observer, author of military fiction On January 11th, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris travelled to Georgia to campaign for SB-1, a voting bill that would essentially federalize elections. The Constitution decrees that elections for federal office be handled at the state level, its rules and laws determined by the legislatures. SB-1 would be a radical departure from more than two centuries of precedent and may well be unconstitutional. Every Senate Republican opposes SB-1. As noted again and again in this space, in order to pass the bill, all 50 senate Democrats would have to vote to abolish the filibuster, whereby 60 votes are needed to advance a bill to the Senate floor for a vote. Senator Krysten Sinema (D-Arizona) and Joe Manchin (D-Virginia) have said for over a year that they won’t vote to abolish or change the filibuster. It is widely believed in Washington that a handful of other Democrat senators from red/purple states feel the same. Which didn’t stop Joe Biden from slamming Sinema, Manchin and Republicans. In his Georgia speech Biden called on the Senate to change filibuster rules and all but

On January 13, the Houthis (Ansar Allah) announced that they had targeted several gatherings of the United Arab Emirates (UAE)-backed Giants Brigades in the Yemeni province of Shabwah with a number of suicide drones and ballistic missiles. In a statement, Brig. Gen. Yahya Sari, a spokesman for the group, said that the strike disturbed the Giants’ preparations to launch a new attack in the district of Ain. “The operation resulted in large numbers of dead and wounded, and caused great panic and confusion in the ranks [of the Giants],” the spokesman said. Brig. Gen Sari also revealed that Saudi-led coalition warplanes carried out on January 13 at least 43 airstrikes on Shabwah and the neighboring province of Ma’rib in support of the Giants Brigades. In the first third of January, the Giants Brigades led a successful large-scale operation in Shabwah that pushed the Houthis out from the district centers of Usaylan, Bayhan and Ain. The group sustained some heavy losses during the operation. The Giants Brigades then moved to district of Harib in Ma’rib, where it linked up with the pro-Saudi wing of the Yemeni Armed Forces on January 13. The

Forget ‘Balance’, The Russia VS West Info War Is Hotting Up

Illustrative Image Russian news outlets are striving to provide different viewpoints on issues while the western media churns out anti-Russian propaganda… Written by Johanna Ross, graduate of Russian Studies and political analyst based in Edinburgh, Scotland. The recent tensions between Russia and the West, which have climaxed of late over the conflict in Ukraine and Moscow’s security proposals, have been well documented in the western media. The coverage however, has been far from balanced and in most cases, amounts to nothing less than propaganda. As a journalist I have experience of working in different media organisations, including Russian media.  I know, as do the majority of trained journalists, how important it is to provide the audience with a balanced range of perspectives on a given topic when news reporting: if you invite on a guest with one opinion, you must provide an alternative view also. I’m also aware of the criticism that Russian media organisations such as RT and Sputnik have had hurled their way over the last decade, with blanket accusations of propaganda dominating the western narrative about these news outlets. I have not been exempt from such labelling, having been branded ‘Putin’s propaganda girl’ for simply working at

Russian Airstrikes Kill Or Wound Over 30 ISIS Terrorists In Central Syria

Su-25 aircrafts in Syria. FILE IMAGE: Vadim Grishankin/Russian Defense Ministry Press and Information Office/TASS On January 13, warplanes of the Russian Aerospace Forces carried out a new round of airstrikes on ISIS terrorists in Syria’s central region. The airstrikes targeted a number of caves and dens in the deserts of Homs and Deir Ezzor which were being used as hideouts by the terrorists. According to the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the Russian airstrikes claimed the lives of 11 terrorists and wounded at least 20 others. The death toll from the airstrikes may rise as many of the wounded are in a critical condition. The intense airstrikes didn’t deter ISIS terrorists, who later attacked positions of the pro-government National Defense Forces (NDF) near the town of al-Bukamal in the southern countryside of Deir Ezzor. Five NDF fighters were killed and 14 others were wounded in the attack. A day earlier, the terrorists raided a post of the Syrian Air Force Intelligence Directorate near the town of al-Kashmah in the southern Deir Ezzor countryside. Three officers were killed and five others were wounded. ISIS terrorists in central Syria have been receiving heavy blows from Syrian government forces and

The Houthis’ air defense force shot down the drone over the district of Ain on January 11. Back then, Brig. Gen. Yahya Sari, a spokesman for the group, said that the drone was shot down with a “locally-made ground-to-air missile”. The video released by the Houthis shows the combat drone breaking into pieces after receiving a direct hit from an unidentified missile, then crashing on the ground. Israeli Authorities Arrested Five Citizens Suspected Of Spying For Iran

Illustrative image. On January 12, the Israeli Security Agency, Shin Bet, announced that it had arrested five Jewish Israelis suspected of assisting an Iranian operative in gathering intelligence and making connections in Israel. The five suspects, four women and one man, are all Jewish immigrants from Iran or the descendants of Iranian immigrants. The alleged Iranian operative, who maintained profiles on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, pretended to be a Jewish man named Rambod Namdar. According to the Shin Bet, some of the suspects told investigators that they were aware that Namdar may have been an Iranian intelligence operative, but continued their communications with him anyway. In exchange for thousands of dollars, the five suspects took photographs of strategically significant sites in Israel, including the US Consulate in Tel Aviv, attempted to form relationships with politicians and provided information about security arrangements at different sites. The security agency said that two of the suspects even attempted to convince their sons to join a Military Intelligence unit of the Israeli Defense Forces at the direction of the Iranian operative. “With their grave actions, those involved put themselves, their families and innocent Israeli citizens at risk, as their information was transferred

US Advisers At Work In Ukrainian Defense Ministry

Illustrative Image Kiev is once again accepting to play a role of destabilizing agent in Russian strategic environment. Written by Lucas Leiroz, researcher in Social Sciences at the Rural Federal University of Rio de Janeiro; geopolitical consultant. Washington decided to send special advisers to work with the Ukrainian Defense Ministry – and Kiev accepted it. Apparently, the new officials will work permanently at Ukrainian government headquarters, which means that their advice and reports will have priority status in the face of decisions taken in Kiev from now on. The measure is part of a list of recent American incursions into the Ukrainian issue, which also includes the sending of equipment and weapons. In fact, once again, Washington shows interest in taking an anti-diplomatic line, to the detriment of negotiations with Russia. In a recent post made by the Policy Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on a social network, it is possible to read: “On January 11, 2022, US advisers Chris Rizzo and Todd Brown began working in the Defense Policy Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on a permanent basis”. At a later time, the Directorate mentions the fact that the main responsibilities of the

Turkey Helped Instigate Uprising In Kazakhstan To Advance “Great Turan” Project

Illustrative Image. 2011 Report that American-Turkish-Israeli operations center instigated Kazakhstan’s bloody unrest. Written by Paul Antonopoulos, independent geopolitical analyst Ankara is seemingly more emboldened than ever as early signs show that the bloody unrest that engulfed Kazakhstan had significant Turkish involvement, not only through its intelligence services, but also through Kazakhstan’s Turkey-oriented politicians and business community. The Kazakh elite, led by its leader Nursultan Nazarbayev, expedited the development of multilateral relations and established an alliance with Ankara. This alliance was cultivated under the formula of a “multi-vector course”, with inspiration of a supranational entity called “Great Turan.” “Great Turan” is a relatively new concept born out of fringe nationalist movements that opposed the Russian Empire and Soviet Union. It was also propelled in Turkey by Kemalist ideology to Turkify Anatolian Muslims and Christians alike. Today, one of the greatest champions of a “Great Turan” – the ideology of unifying Turkic-speaking people from the Balkans to Siberia and Xinjiang, is Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. It is recalled that when speaking to the Organization of Turkic States, Erdoğan said: “Turkistan is our ancestral home, our main hearth. We are a very large family of 300 million people who speak the same
