Barefoot Warrior’s comment:
If anyone in my area is aware of a Holistic doctor who practices integrative and nutritional medicine then PLEASE let me know.
It is so tiring to have to waste time over and over with another #allopatic practitioner who, these days, seems to go by the same script: “If I can’t write a prescription for some #BigPharma #Snake_Oil, I’ll refer this unwitting patient to an ever more expansive (and expensive) list of #specialists. Just tick the appropriate boxes on my check-list.”
Nobody ever tells you that the higher you are referred to the specialist specialists, and the more they charge, the less they know or understand the whole person. If they even want to know because don’t you dare question their infallible authority. After all it is they who have spent many years looking through a microscope to refine their reductionist specialisation. They (think they) know…
It is high time we seek out the Holistic Practitioner and tell all our friends and family about it when we find one in our area. It is high time we collectively say a loud ‘NO’ to the allopatic model of disease care. it is a dismal failure. Thank you Mr #Rockefeller for your bold plan to monopolise disease care (for profit). It worked.

Holism is about the big picture; it relates to the theory that nothing happens in a vacuum. When seeking answers to a problem, #holism puts the emphasis on the ‘whole’ rather than the parts.
The English Oxford Dictionaries define holism:
The theory that parts of a whole are in intimate interconnection, such that they cannot exist independently of the whole, or cannot be understood without reference to the whole, which is thus regarded as greater than the sum of its parts.
And when holism is about #health:
The treating of the whole person, taking into account mental and social factors, rather than just the symptoms of a disease.
Another way to think about holism is by using the analogy of systems both natural and manmade (i.e. an ecosystem a health system, a family system, a solar system, etc.).
A system is a complex ‘whole’ with a clear boundary; there is an outside and an inside. The content inside a system (weather, animals, and plants) is made up of interrelated, interdependent parts that directly reflect the overall context, within which they exist, (for example: an ecosystem).
Whenever the whole of anything produces an outcome greater than any of its parts could accomplish, individually, we call that synergy, (for example: a thunderstorm, the music of an orchestra).
The opposite to holism, #reductionism, instead analyzes something by its component parts.
Holistic Health: Treating the Whole Person
The traditional approach of the medical system has taught us to recognize health from a reductionist perspective. We go to the doctor to get some specific part of our body fixed because it has stopped functioning well and may be causing us pain.
Millions of people get positive results using the medical-model. The only problem is that this model considers, almost exclusively, just the health of the body. And when it comes to mental health, the typical solution is to prescribe antidepressant medicine.
Why is this a problem? We humans are complex beings. We have minds, emotions and a soul, the personal, intangible relationship to a macro reality beyond ourselves. What’s more, who we are, is constantly influenced within the contexts of family, community, country and world.
A holistic approach to health and wellness addresses the reality of these multiple interrelated and interdependent parts that make us who we are. The malaise of any one of them can directly (and negatively), affect the health of other parts of our life.
For this reason alone, the first focus of holistic care is on the person and not the issue or disease. Stress, anxiety, and depression, for example, often end up translating to a physical symptom. It’s all connected.
According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) national survey, in September, 2017, The American Psychiatric Association reported that antidepressant use had gone from 1 in 50 people 30 years ago to 1 of 9 between the years 2011 and 2014, and now in 2018.
This is clear evidence of the rise in mood disorders for Americans.
Why the increased use? As mentioned, nothing happens in a vacuum and so assessing one’s lifestyle regarding home, relationships, finances, work, etc. becomes a critical task to determine their impact. The bottom-line is to find the root cause (s) and establish a restorative plan.
Cannabis and Holistic Health
The medicinal use of cannabis is a world apart from its recreational use. In many cases, the lower the amount of THC used in any medicinal formulation, the greater the desired effect. The saying is: Start low; go slow. Treatment is never one-size-fits-all because the current interplay of someone’s body, mind and soul are of primary consideration.
Historically, the whole of the ancient cannabis plant was used for a beneficial impact on a person’s overall, general condition, far beyond mere symptom control. This makes it a perfect match to the holistic approach to health.
Not unlike the complexity of the human being in context of our various lifestyles, cannabis a complex plant of the plant kingdom. It’s effectiveness as an overall tonic has to do with the fact of cannabis containing approximately 100 molecular compounds, with THC and CBD most researched and understood.
When the whole of the cannabis plant is used as medicine it offers a synergistic or ‘entourage’ effect which accounts for why the therapeutic use of cannabis provides relief to a wide variety of conditions.
In this way therapeutic cannabis use stands in stark contrast to traditional medicine that typically isolates plant compounds and manufactures them in pharmaceuticals to target one symptom or bodily system.
I believe that more and more people are discerning the difference between the medical and holistic models of health. Each has its time and place. When discovering the many benefits of medicinal cannabis, our overall wellness, lifestyle and broader culture can transform for the better.

Barefoot Warrior comments:
As a long time student of #vaccines (since 1971) and the alleged safety and efficacy of the practice of administering more and more vaccines, sometimes mandated by law, into our babies, I consider myself to be pretty well versed in the so called vaccination ‘science’.
That vaccines are very bad news for our babies would be crystal clear to anyone who would take the time to research the matter. I have also long held that because of much lower testing and manufacturing standards applied to vaccines for animals, that the possible dangers of animal vaccines are multiplied many times.
When we consider that our animals can’t complain or report adverse effects and combine that with the enormous profit motive behind the industry from #Veterinarians to #BigPharma vaccine manufacturers, the only conclusion that can be reached is that a pet owner would be well advised NOT to vaccinate their pets.
Just like I have NEVER vaccinated my three sons, I have also NEVER vaccinated my pets. I am happy to report that both kids and pets are much healthier (and continue to be) than general disease statistics would hold for possible.
So when this article appeared on the Internet I knew I had to share it with my audience. Please read the article fully and allow the ramifications to sink in and use the newly gained insight as an incentive to inform yourselves.

(Natural News) Most of us are incredibly attached to our pets. As such, we do everything we can to prevent them from getting ill, including getting them vaccinated at the intervals recommended on the schedules we receive from their veterinarians. What we might not realize, however, is that in getting them vaccinated we may be exposing them to very dangerous retroviruses, some of which have been linked to cancer and other fatal animal diseases.
A study recently published in the journal Biologicals, entitled “Endogenous retroviruses as potential hazards for vaccines,” warns that the way in which animal vaccines are manufactured leaves them vulnerable to contamination by retroviruses which are present in the master seed stock of the cells used in their production.
The manufacture of both human and animal vaccines is dependent on the use of live human and animal cells as seed stock. Unfortunately, as noted by GreenMedInfo, many of these cells are contaminated with endogenous retroviruses (ERVs). When animal vaccines that have been created using contaminated cells are injected into our furry friends, these illnesses can be handed over along with the vaccine’s “normal” contents.
The study, which was conducted by researchers from the department of cell biology at Kyoto University in Japan, found that the risks associated with such vaccines have largely been ignored, leaving our pets vulnerable to serious diseases, including feline leukemia, the primary cancer diagnosed in cats. Feline leukemia is of particular concern to cat lovers, as it affects between 2 and 3 percent of all cats in the United States, and up to 30 percent of cats who are already battling other illnesses.
Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine notes:
Cats persistently infected with [Feline Leukemia Virus] FeLV serve as sources of infection for other cats. The virus is shed in saliva, nasal secretions, urine, feces, and milk of infected cats. Cat-to-cat transfer of the virus may occur from a bite wound, during mutual grooming, and (rarely) through the shared use of litter boxes and feeding dishes. Transmission can also take place from an infected mother cat to her kittens, either before they are born or while they are nursing.
And now, the Kyoto University study has confirmed that another possible avenue of infection is through the very vaccines we give our cats to prevent them from getting sick.
So, what exactly are retroviruses, and why are they so difficult to fight off?
A YouTube video by the Sci Show, entitled “Retroviruses: Microbial supervillains” explains that while our bodies (and those of our animal friends) can produce antibodies that recognize and destroy cells infected with viruses before they get too out of hand, retroviruses operate in a completely different way – a way that the body does not identify and therefore does not fight off effectively:
[Retroviruses] get their supervillain status because of an enzyme called reverse transcriptase, which reads the virus’s RNA and turns it into DNA, which then makes its way into the cell’s DNA and attaches itself. Once the retroviral DNA is in the cell’s DNA, the cell just starts copying the new DNA along with its own. After the retroviral DNA infects the cell it can lie dormant for a while before it activates itself. On top of that, these viruses are reproduced a ton, so it provides lots of opportunities for mutation. All of this makes it incredibly difficult for the immune system to fight them off.
Purposely injecting these dangerous retroviruses into our pets just doesn’t make much sense, does it? So, if you really love your best friend, keep him healthy through his #diet and #exercise and skip the vaccinations.
